The SRHR Project for Indigenous Women Living with HIV is a five-year international initiative (2021–2026) funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. It brings together Indigenous women, Elders, researchers, and community leaders from Canada, Guatemala, India, Nepal, New Zealand, Nigeria, and Peru.
Our goal is to improve access to safe, respectful, and culturally grounded sexual and reproductive health care. We work to identify barriers, build strong partnerships, and support Indigenous women and their allies in leading research and making informed decisions in their communities.
Using a Two-Eyed Seeing approach, which combines Western science with Indigenous knowledge, we create tools, resources, and policies that reflect community strengths and priorities. By doing this, we promote self-determination, inform global guidelines, and support healthier futures for Indigenous women and girls living with HIV.
